My guess is that he thinks it's Violet... there are so few women on his world, it's possible that they all look alike or that Violet is a mutant shape shifting alien. It's just as credible as this comic being girly.
If this comic were "girly" it sets a dangerous pretense, that would be analogous to the labeling of what it means to be "girly." I feel that sort of thing would be genuinely harmful to the story and it's target audience.
The reason I feel this way is because, the implication is/are:
1) that it is a shame to be a girl,
2) that girls are expected to behave like victims or sacred prostitues.
Since those are the roles of the female characters presented in the story thus far.
Also,"Tico and the golden wings" has more in common with MLPFIM than "The Lonely Moon," and it bothers me that such materials are being used to teach maladjusted diplomacy, equality, and social stratification to children.
On the previous page, Marshall strife made a comment to the effect that "The Lonely Moon is like FIM because it is girly" and it bothered me because the only thing that the two universes have in common as speculative fiction are fantasy.
Plus, you know, I like it when I give people a good laugh.
